If you blinked you surely missed The Fratellis’ recent North American tour, which came to Atlanta’s Masquerade venue on March 3. The power pop trio from Scotland hit the US and Canada with a total of 5 shows, in about as many days, including this one in Atlanta. Jon, Barry, and Mince are back on the road after a several year breakup-slash-hiatus, with a world tour in progress. They’ve got a new studio LP “We Need Medicine” and are hoping it can catch some fire, like their breakthrough release “Costello Music” in 2006. The band’s popularity seems to have ebbed very little if any during their absence, with nearly half a million Facebook fans and many sold out dates ahead. No upcoming US dates announced yet but it’s hard to imagine these guys not bringing their sonic hooks, barroom sing-alongs, and mighty rock and roll swagger back to America this year.
