Twenty years after he redefined
the pulse of intelligent dance music as one half of the groundbreaking
minimalist duo Basic Channel, Moritz Von Oswald continues to discover new
directions in electronic music with the third studio album from his exciting
new band the Moritz Von Oswald Trio.

With Fetch, Oswald, Sun Electric’s
Max Laderbaur and Sasu Ripatti from Vladislav Delay’s crew smashes through the
barriers between techno steadiness and jazzbo seamlessness with adventurous
aplomb, expanding upon their three-man unit to include ECM session bassist Marc
Muellbauer and expert effects manipulator Tobias Freund for a non-stop cooking
session that was recorded and completed off the cuff in a hair around four
hours, with overdubs by Dark Magus-schooled trumpeter Sebastian
Studnitzky and reedist Jonas Schoen later put in on workouts like
“Jam” and “Club”.

finished product is a beautifully fluid fusion of dub, jazz and micro-house zone-outs
that continues to exemplify Oswald’s two-decade strong aptitude
as one of the great masters of repetitive groove theory.
