Initially
seen as a gimmick of sorts when recording under the name Noise Addict as a 15
year old, Aussie musician Lee has released some fine (underrated) pop records
over the years (the best being 1997’s Something to Remember Me By). Now
30 and married to actress Ione Sky, Lee has written 13 songs about the female
love and politics.

On
the former topic are songs like the positively upbeat “I’m a Woman
Too” and clunky dance number “Boy with a Barbie” while on the
political are cuts like the partly spoken-word critique/ part  feel-good
anthem  “Wake Up America” and the record-ending “Song for
the Divine Mother of the Universe.” In between are up-with-the-people
numbers like “I Love Pop Music” and the bouncy “Yoko Ono.”
While bordering on cheesy on a few occasions, the album makes it nearly
impossible not to cheer for Lee as he wants to pour his heart onto you and has
blanketed it all in some undeniably catchy songs.
