With their sophomore set, Amor De Dias evoke the same sensuous Bosanova vibe they so ably introduced with their debut. Indeed, the unlikely pairing of these two disparate musicians, Alasdair MacLean of the British band The Clientele and Lupe Nunez-Fernandez of the U.K. duo Pipas, finds them leaning more towards the latter’s Latin motif, particularly on opening trilogy “Voice in the Rose,” “In the Winter Sun” and “The House at Sea” where soft, subtle acoustic guitar and gentle shuffled rhythms provide an enticing entrée.

That’s all in keeping with the pair’s basic premise, given that Amor De Dias translates in Spanish as “Love of Days.” So while “Day” quickens the pace and “Jean’s Waving” betrays MacLean’s pop proficiency, the overall mood is seductive and sublime. Ultimately, #The House at Sea# provides an ideal aural retreat, a tranquil locale where calm waters create minimal waves.
