Track taken from debut record due in early Nov. (Hey guys, let’s have lunch at El Presidio when the record drops!)

The Tucson-based indie rockers Brydes are prepping the fall release of their debut EP Turquoise, 5 songs that has been generating mucho critical acclaim and comparisons to Haim, Chvrches and Sky Ferreira. It’s due Nov. 10, but meanwhile we’ve got their brand new video for first single “Bright Eyed Boy” exclusively for BLURT readers, so check it out:
Explains Kaia Mazza, the bands vocalist and creative force, “Simply put, a love song from a girl left in the desert. Narrated from the perspective of two partners, separated geographically, but affirming the purity of that love. Echoing is a solicitation to hold on to commitment and intention and devotion to what may be faith in the future; unseen but fully stubborn in the belief that it will be home and beautiful.”
The Turquoise EP is testimony of what might grow in the desert, paying homage to its southwestern scenery and ambition. The record is positioned in a musical backdrop of ‘80s sensibilities, balancing deeply soulful vocal melodies with patterns of rest and reprieve throughout. BRYDES jump in all the way, with huge, glistening synths and percolating hi-hat rhythms, punctuated by female vocal layers, ready-made in this context for the archetypal big ‘80s MTV anthem.
The band will be announcing Turquoise tour dates on Nov. 1….
