North Carolina lives again!
North Carolina singer/songwriter David Childers loves sitting on his porch, in his backyard, or in his parlor with musician friends and neighbors, just singin’ and pickin’. Childers makes music because he loves making music, and that attribute is oh-so evident in his new video, “Jericho,” made with his friend and musical cohort of 20 years, Jim Avett, father to Seth and Scott. Check it out:
The two have been getting together to play old gospel songs for ages. It was Childers’ purity that convinced Dolph Ramseur to sign him to his label and release Childers’ latest album, Serpents of Reformation. (Ramseur also released Childers’ project with Avett Brothers Bob Crawford, The Overmountain Men.)
Childers is a singer, prolific songwriter, poet, musician, historian, painter, and champion of those who get tangled up in the North Carolina bureaucratic legal system. (We here at BLURT sometimes refer to him as the rock ‘n’ roll lawyer.) More info on David Childers can be found here.
