Gifted songstress Danielia Cotton seems to be on a roll at the moment, having recently teamed up with Rachel Yamagata for a duet cover of the Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” which is featured on Cotton’s new album The Real Book, due on Oct. 21 on her Cottontown label. Now she’s ready to unveil another gem, her take on Simon & Garfunkel’s classic tune “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” We are very honored to premiere it for you today:

Cotton, who grew up in New Jersey and was drawn equally to rock and jazz, previously released the Rare Child album. The new record is already getting rave press notices, as much for its unusual selection of material (Stones, Zombies, Stevie Wonder, Blind Faith, Radiohead and even Bruno Mars, among others) as for its “soulful, rocking and irresistible” vibe (so sayeth the Los Angeles Times). Run, don’t walk, to your local record store in October when it hits the bins.
