Plucked from the San Francisco trio’s upcoming February EP.
By Blurt Staff
San Fran’s The Campbell Apartment has been compared to everyone from R.E.M., Pavement and Jonathan Richman to Ween, the Decemberists and Vampire Weekend with an overall ‘90s indie rock vibe. But we’re in 2015, so we’re gonna go out on a limb and simply proclaim that the trio to be all about now, and we’re doubly stoked to be able to unveil a new track from the band for the Blurt readership. Check out “Something In the Way,” which hails from their forthcoming 6-song EP Sundogs, due Feb. 20:
The Campbell Apartment, named after a bar hidden inside New York’s Grand Central Station, is fronted by Russian born singer-songwriter and oil painter Ari Vais. Rounding out the group is drummer Steve Matthews and bassist Mayya Feygina. Sundogs, their third record, is the follow-up to 2011’s In. It was cut in San Francisco with producer George S. Rosenthal and guest musicians Shane DeSilva (keyboards) and Scott Young (trombone); it will be available digitally and on 12” gold vinyl.
Tour dates will be announced shortly.
