Searching For Sugar Man, the original motion picture soundtrack album from the Academy Award winning documentary, has sold more than 500,000 copies around the world. An anthology of originally overlooked songs written and performed by Rodriguez in 1969-71, the Searching For Sugar Man soundtrack provides a powerful introduction to an uncompromising musical visionary.
“Thank you to the fans,” said Rodriguez. “It’s an honor and a pleasure to be heard.”
Meanwhile, over at Rolling Stone he has premiered a very cool lyric video for his classic “I Wonder.” And if you are so moved, feel free to check out the BLURT feature on Rodriguez (which includes an interview with the musician) from a few years ago, prior to all the Hollywood acclaim.
