Could happen despite all the baggage.

Last year’s multi-format deluxe reissue of Rage Against The Machine’s iconic self-titled ’92 debut did decent, if not gangbusters, business at retail. And in truth there’s always been a cross-cultural interest in the politically-charged punk/funk/avant combo (guitarist Tom Morello is a personal hero of BLURT’s editor, truth told). So now we here that the group may be thinking about reviving the “L.A. Rising” festival, an event they curated in 2012 to great success.
Today at the LAR Facebook page the organizers posted, succinctly, “Plans for L.A. RISING 2014 are underway. August 2014 may seem distant, but THE ROAD TO L.A. RISING will NOT be barren. More info to come…”
Well, what the heck – no one would complain about a 22nd anniversary tour and accompanying album. It’s interesting that over the past year, RATM has been averaging about one post per month to its own Facebook page, but starting about 3 weeks ago those posts have ramped up significantly (6 just in the past week). So with that uptick in activity in the band camp in mind… let the games begin!
