So ya used to live in L.A. and you miss all those pogo nights you indulged during the late ‘70s? What would you say to learn that your old heroes The Weirdos, Avengers, Deadbeats w/ Geza X, Alleycats and Rhino 39 were reuniting for a one-off evening of punk fun?
Seminal L.A. indie label Frontier Records and Part Time Punks have confirmed a long awaited, oft promised Dangerhouse Records reunion show and it’s Sunday Nov. 9 @ The Echoplex. It’s in support the recent release of Frontier Records/Dangerhouse box set on 45 R.P.M. vinyl. DANGERHOUSE COMPLETE SINGLES COLLECTED 1977-1979 (it was also released on CD via Spanish label Munster).
This is the first time that only Dangerhouse artists have appeared on one bill, and the first time Rhino 39 has played an LA show in 20 years. The Dangerhouse reunion show is more than four years in the making. In 2013, Frontier reissued Dangerhouse’s YES LA, a one-sided 12” EP featuring the Germs, X, The Bags, Eyes, Black Randy & the Metrosquad and Alleycats. And back in the early ‘90s, Frontier initially released two compilations of out of print Dangerhouse material.
The Dangerhouse reunion show at the Echoplex is all ages and begins at 4pm on November 9. Tickets can be purchased here (http://www.theecho.com/event/594717-dangerhouse-records-nite-los-angeles/). Got all that? Okay, let’s pogo:
