MP3: Listen to New Ettes Track

Ettes 2

Slated for official release on Cassette Store Day.

By Blurt Staff

Not long ago word arrived about the upcoming Cassette Store Day, October 17, spearheaded in the US by the tape enthusiasts at Burger Records, and we are psyched to see what’s going to be offered this year.

Among those offerings will be Stupid Punk Boy via the Girlsville label, and in addition to tracks by Coachwhips, Mr. Airplane Man, Dum Dum Girls, Prissteens and others, this ace anthology will feature  longtime BLURT faves The Ettes. The band recently gave fans a preview, “Live and Let Live,” and it is a doozy. It’s been way too long since we heard fresh material from the Nashville-based trio—Wicked Will was released way back in 2011—so this is a major reason to cheer. Salute!

Check out the tune below, and meanwhile, read our 2011 interview with the band and the 2009 “auto interview” conducted by frontwoman Coco Hames. Incidentally, the Stupid Punk Boy cassette is also a benefit for the Translife Center in Chicago, which helps provide programming and support for the transgender community – a worthy organization indeed, and you can find out more about it HERE.
