The 2013 Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit is slated for the weekend of October 25 – 27, and like its previous incarnation as Moogfest, it will take place in Asheville, NC, and capitalize on impending Halloween festivities. (Moogfest, of course, is slated to resume operations at a different time of year and is not affiliated with the MOEMS.)

Nine Inch Nails, Bassnectar, and Pretty Lights will headline the three-day weekend, which also will feature a performance by Neutral Milk Hotel, who have not played live since 1998. Additionally, Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum is curating the night of music surrounding the band’s performance, including special guests Daniel Johnston and Half Japanese.

Speaking of Nine Inch Nails: a multitaskingTrent Reznor will also be performing with his other group, How to Destroy Angels.

Other artists confirmed for this year’s initial Mountain Oasis 2013 line up: the avant-rock Animal Collective, electronic rock legend Gary Numan, Montreal-based post-rock visionaries Godspeed You! Black Emperor, producer/rapper and “trip hop” pioneer Tricky, the powerful collaboration between Zola Jesus and JG Thirwell which debuted last spring at the Guggenheim Museum, electro-pop diva Jessie Ware, legendary electro-producer The Bug, and electronica pioneers Silver Apples along with a sampling of who’s who of the new wave in electronica including Disclosure, Rustie, Chromatics, Robert DeLong, Jacques Greene, and Bondax.

Additional acts will be announced in the coming weeks, with some 50 – 60 artists slated to perform in October.

Weekend passes for Mountain Oasis 2013 will go on sale Thursday, May 2, at 12 Noon Eastern Time exclusively at
