While it’s not considered high on the “unlikely Brit band reunions” list – like, say, Oasis or Spacemen 3 – you can probably say that not too many people saw this coming. Psych/shoegaze mavens Lush are planning a live reunion for May 6 at London’s Roundhouse, they announced via Lush’s Facebook  page.

According to Miki Berenyi, “The opportunities and practicalities of reforming Lush meant that for 20 years it was an impossible undertaking. But we all loved what we did, and the time is finally right for us to do it again.”

It’s not necessarily an opportunistic move, either, despite the ongoing march of reunions intended to capitalize on a release: 4AD is reissuing the band’s greates hits collection Ciao! along with a box set, Chorus, featuring sundry rarities and the three Lush studio albums; but this happens in November, not next spring.
