“Cold Fact” LP by Rodriguez Reissued on Color Vinyl

Feast your eyes on that tasty wax…

When I first started helping out here at BLURT I had never heard of Sixto Rodriguez – but once I heard him, I was hooked. Some of you may know him from the Oscar-winning Searching For Sugar Man documentary, while others were lucky enough to experience him via his two classic ’70s album, and still others (like our Editor) actually got to see him perform live on one of his infrequent tours during recent years. (Go HERE to read more about the Rodriguez story as well as our interview with him.)

1970’s Cold Fact LP is the pure classic, boasting such gems as “Sugar Man,” “Jane S. Piddy” and “Forget It.” (That said, 1972 followup Coming From Reality is pretty awesome as well.) Originally released via Buddha Records subsidiary Sussex, the soulful songwriter’s American career got rebooted in 2009 when Cold Fact was reissued by the ever-diligent Light In the Attic label. After that came the Searching… film and the rest is history.

Now, as part of the Newbury Comics classic albums reissued on colored vinyl series, Cold Fact is available on absolutely gorgeous “french vanilla” vinyl. Need we say more? Full details HERE – but act fast, as only 750 copies are being pressed. Below, let’s review…
