Yep, ‘fraid so…

The blogosphere (I know nobody uses that term anymore, just roll with it, okay?) is all abuzz today (slow news day) about former child actor (he hates being called “former child actor” but with Home Alone looping on cable this holiday season, he’ll have to roll with it) Macaulay Culkin’s Velvet Underground tribute band the Pizza Underground – in which, you guessed it, they do Velvets covers with pizza lyrics replacing the usual ones about dope, sodomy, sadism and femme fatales. As Rolling Stone reports, tunes include “I’m Waiting for Delivery Man,” “All the Pizza Parties,” “I’m Beginning to Eat the Slice” and (in honor of the late Lou Reed I guess, even though it’s not a VU song) “Take A Bite of the Wild Side.”
Seriously. I mean, this is stuff not even Weird Al would touch. So why are even wasting our time reading about it (you’re guilty right now), much less writing about it (mea culpa)? Who know. Here’s a kind of mockumentary (my determination) on the band if you have 15 minutes to waste, but don’t ask for it back later ‘cos you have been warned.
