One of the most epochal releases of the Amerindie underground
– and a regular fixture on fan and critic Top 100 Rock Albums lists – is the
Dream Syndicate’s 1982 classic The Days
of Wine and Roses
. As this year marks the record’s 30th anniversary, DS mainman has some timely news he recently posted at his website:

This September marks
the 30 year anniversary of the release of
The Days of Wine and Roses. I’m excited to say The Dream Syndicate will
be commemorating the date by reforming for a handful of shows in Spain, the
first time that Dennis Duck, Mark Walton and I will have performed as the Dream
Syndicate since we walked off stage at the I-Beam in San Francisco back in
1988. We’re going to be joined for these dates (and very possibly some more
beyond) by Jason Victor who has so ably carried the torch of the guitarists who
have played these songs with us before. I’m really looking forward to these
shows and I hope that some of you will have the chance to come

Those tour dates are (full European itinerary at the website

Barcelona, Spain

Valencia, Spain

Madrid, Spain

Mallorca, Spain

Bilbao, Spain

Big thanks to longtime BLURT contributor – and fellow DS
fanatic –  Barry St. Vitus for tipping us
to this most auspicious news. Okay, let’s rock with these flashbacks to 1982:
