Karmic as fuck, yo.

We’ve been listening on a daily basis to the new album from OM, Advaitic Songs, ever
since the advance dropped through the office mail chute about a month ago. It’s the follow up to 2009’s God is Good. Due July 24 from Drag City,
it is, in a word, or three, karmic as fuck, a tantalizing blend of Eastern
modalities and cosmic psych. Check out the six-minute, heavy-ass, trippy song “State
of Non-Return” if you want some advance proof:
The albnum comprises a five song suite and, according to the label, “maintains
the singularity of purpose that informs the core sound of OM, yet every element
reaches further than before. Whatever drone-doom genre that had been hoisted on
the duo in years past has been decimated by the sheer imagination, expansive
quality, and meticulously detailed arrangements of this new album.”
Amen to that, Brother Al (Cisneros) and Brother Emil (Amos).
