Just in time for the
summertime scandal season…

With word of the new Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks album
zipping around the internet faster than a U.S. congressman can lower his zipper
– the Beck-produced Mirror Traffic is
due Aug. 23 on Matador – the band has now unveiled the first track for your
musical edification. It’s a catchy, quintessentially Malkmusian ditty (with a
great guitar solo to boot) called “Senator,” and as Pitchfork kindly pointed
out, the tunes includes the delicate lyrics “what the senator wants is a blowjob.”
We also like “stick it where the sun don’t shine/ as the
world turns.”
