In heavy rotation around the
BLURT offices lately has been garage/soul/punk/psych impresarios Lil Daggers, a
5-piece from Miami, and whose smartly-titled Self-Titled album arrived in April on the Limited/Fanfare label. L/F
will be putting it out on limited edition vinyl July 12, so in honor of the
occasion we’ve got a stream of the whole platter for you to check out.

Here’s the backstory, and
that’s about all you need to know. The band will be touring, so you have been

Drawing from their mutual
love for early Rock & Roll, Doo-Wop, R&B, Soul, and Punk Rock music, Lil
Daggers’ debut, the “Stragglers
EP, was released as a limited edition tour only 10″ on the heels of their
showcase at 2009’s SXSW Festival — the record sold out within a few weeks. Three
7″ records followed, (2010’s Split with Satan’s Youth Ministers, their Livid Records “King Corpse” EP and the ultra-limited “Slave Exchange” 7″ released on
Discosoma Records as part of Record Store Day 2011), and athen came the
full-length debut this spring. Being based in a place where sun, sand and
tourists are the norm, Lil Daggers offers a distinctly alternative view of the city in which they live and love, Miami. Taking a trip
through the album’s 11 tracks you’ll encounter reverb-drenched vocals, classic
fuzz tones, sweeping organ and sonic landscapes that make the album much more
than your typical garage band knocking out 2 minute songs.   Lil
was Produced By Ryan Haft (Capsule, Torche) and Lil Daggers and
mixed by Jonathan Nuñez of Torche.
