“I feel I’m in the best band that is on this planet, right here today.”

That’s erstwhile Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher in an uncharacteristically
humble mood, talking up his new band Beady Eye to Billboard.com. Gallagher may
feel the need to plug the outfit on these shores, which released debut album Different Gears, Still Speeding on March
1, but while it is doing well in the UK charts, American critics to date don’t
seem to have had much of anything to say about it.

“We are excited,” Gallagher told Billboard. “We want people
to fucking like it as much as we like it, but realistically, not everybody’s
gonna like it as much as we do. We’re interested to hear what people think
about it. But it’s not gonna make or break our day.”

A wise attitude indeed. At any rate, you can read the entire story right
here
, and meanwhile Beady Eye (or The Band Formerly Known As Oasis But Without
The Bloke Who Played Guitar And Wrote All The Great Songs, as some folks are
calling it) intends to show what a strong work ethic the band has by doing
three North American shows in June:

June 18 – Metro, Chicago

June 20 – Sound Academy, Toronto

June 23 – Webster Hall, New York
