The die is cast, the votes are in, the polls are closed, and
the Supreme Court is now mulling over the challenges: that’s right, we have a
winner in the latest Blurt Poll – it’s the mighty Henry Rollins, of Black
Flag/Rollins Band fame and tons more exploits in the literary and entertainment
world.

We asked you: “We’re getting ready to overhaul our blog
section. Who would you like to see added to the roster of bloggers?” Rollins
was the overwhelming favorite, taking 18% of the tally. And response was huge,
with every one of our potential selections getting votes, even kid pop star Justin
Bieber (gleep!) and Italian porn star/politician La Cicciolina. Bizarrely,
erstwhile Scandal frontwoman Patty Smythe, of “We Are the Warriors” fame, only
notched a lone vote to L.C.’s three and Bieber’s six, so we’re not sure what
that says about our readership.

But the OTHER Patty, this one Patti Smith, was the clear
second place vote-getter, with 13% of the vote. Trailing behind her were the
two Steves, Earle and Martin, with 10% and 9% respectively, while the rest,
like Ian MacKaye, Ian Svenonius and Glenn Beck, all hovered in the 5% range.

Worth noting: YOU, or technically (as the answer was
phrased) “Me,” notched a respectable 5% as well; yet “The Editor” was more or
less in the cellar with but 3%, despite our wisdom and omniscience, so
goddammit, we’re taking our ball and going home if that’s the way you feel
about us.

there on the lefthand column of the home page, in which you can vote for your
favorite SXSW year to date in honor of the annual Austin music conference’s 25th anniversary.

Meanwhile – Henry? You out there? Get in touch, bro. We have some
home page real estate we need to negotiate with ya. Winning!
