As
we previously announced, Feb. 7 will bring “The Music of Neil Young”
tribute/benefit concert – performers lined up thus far for the Carnegie Hall
bash include Patti Smith, The Roots, Aimee Mann, Cowboy Junkies, Bettye
LaVette, Shawn Colvin, Keller Williams, Joan Osborne, Mason Jennings, J Mascis,
Pete Yorn, Joe Purdy, DeVotchKa, Bebel Gilberto, Antibalas and Ben Ottewell (Of
Gomez). And 100% of the net proceeds from the concert will be given to six
music education non-profits: The American Symphony Orchestra Music Notes,
Church Street School of Music, Young Audiences, Music Unites All-Youth Choir,
The Pinwheel Project, and FIKS (Fixing Instruments for Kids in Schools).

Last
week it was announced that there will be a The Music of Neil Young YouTube
Contest, offering fans a chance to win VIP tickets to both the concert and the artist
after-party at City Winery.

Entrants
must create an original Neil Young Tribute video, featuring themselves
performing or interpreting a song by the songwriter, and upload the results to
the City Winery’s YouTube page here, with a personal introduction: http://www.youtube.com/user/CityWineryNYC

The
winners will be chosen based on the originality and creativity of the video.
