Back in the fall of ’09, San Fran indiepop combo the Dodos
released their Time to Die album,
which built upon the promise of 2008’s Visiter and wound up placing highly on many year-end lists. As BLURT put it in our
enthusiastic review, “Not since the great Bay Area thrash-metal scene of the
1980s has San Francisco brimmed with so much great talent as it does now,
although the new scene has more in common with the Summer of Love era than the
heyday of Testament and Cliff Burton-era Metallica. And the Dodos are most
certainly perched atop alongside the finest Fog City
has to offer in 2009.”

Now comes word that the band has cut a followup to TTD, and it’s slated for a March 15
release on Frenchkiss. Titled No Color and
produced again by John Askew, it also reportedly features Neko Case prominent
as guest vocalist on a good chunk of the album. Askew talks a bit about the
album in the video clip below.
