Watch Clips of Springsteen on “Fallon”

Some Broooce rarities
plus, uh, an audible called by “Neil Young.”

By Fred Mills

He came, he saw, he played (and played his earlier self, too…),
he conquered. Last night Bruce Springsteen appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, guitarist Little Steven and pianist
Roy Bittan in tow, to chat and do some rare tunes from his deluxe Darkness on the Edge of Town box set
that hit stores this week. The three musicians were backed by house band The
Roots and turned in absolutely inspiring performances – check in particular the
extended outro for “BTN” as it will give you chills.

Meanwhile, Springsteen’s circa-1976 doppelganger dueted with
an equally vintage Neil Young (aka Fallon doing his popular bewigged/nasally
voice Neil schtick) on a version of ten-year old Willow Smith’s “classic” tune “Whip
My Hair.” It was so awful it was amazing – must-see TV by any definition of the
term. Watch it and the other music clips, below. (Thanks to the Audio Perv.)
