Neil Young Loses Gear, More, in Fire

At least $1 million in
damage, but a good chunk of the material was saved.

By Fred Mills is reporting that a San Carlo, Calif.,
warehouse went up in flames early this morning-a warehouse containing extensive
memorabilia belonging to Neil Young. According to the report Young “kept guitars, paintings, vintage cars and cases of other
memorabilia at the 10,000-square-foot warehouse.”

However, the three alarm fire was
brought under control relatively soon after firefighters responded, and about
70 percent of the belongings have been salvaged or are salvageable.” Estimates
are that at least $1 million in damage was sustained. No other details on
exactly what from the Young collection might have been lost or damaged have
been disclosed. (Thanks to BLURT contributor Barry St. Vitus for the tip.)
