Asthmatic Kitty is set to
release Say Goodbye by Liz Janes on
December 7, and we think it’s the perfect timing, too, for this indie rocker,
right after the fall deluge of releases and before everyone gets distracted bay
the holidays.

Janes has a pretty fascinating back story, which you can
read right here at the Asthmatic Kitty website; suffice to say that after the
DC musician relocated to the northwest locale of Olympia, Wash.
to attend college, she gradually began intersection with a slew of influential
players, including Sufjan Stevens, who wanted to release her music on A.K.

According to the label, Say Goodbye is an album of “unpretentious
life and philosophy paired with Rafter’s
space-pop backing, Jason Crane’s
(Rocket from Crypt) soaring Motownian horn arrangements, and Chris Schlarb’s smooth as chocolate
gelato guitar work. Rafter and friends give new life to Liz’s beautiful,
spacious voice and her attempts at making sense of the world.”

Here’s a free MP3 taster from the record that should help
whet your appetite for the December date… “I Don’t Believe”
