Go ahead, admit it – you’ve been scouring the web for
footage, any footage (even grainy/out of synch, with shitty audio, footage)
of  Bethany Cosentino warbling her band
Best Coast’s classic Crazy For You track “Boyfriend.” It’s the summery-est of the summer songs for 2010 and one
whose aural delights keep on giving.

The band finally unveiled the new video yesterday at
MTVU.com, posted below, just in time for a North American tour that kicks off
next week in San Francisco
and runs through the middle of November. Tour itinerary follows.

The
video was directed by award-winning filmmaker Taylor Cohen (Matt & Kim) and
captures a sweet 15 Quinceañera where Best
Coast had the honor of providing the
entertainment on a golden Southern California
day. “Seriously one of the best days ever! Even though I had to wake up at
6 am it was worth it. We ate tacos in a beautiful LA park all day, and got to
hang out with really amped little kids and a super cute little black dog,”
says Cosentino. “Taylor
was amazing to work with as well, as was everyone who worked on the video. We
are so happy with it.”

Adds
Cohen, “I wrote this video based on Best
Coast’s interest in doing a video with
a California
vibe. I live in the same area of LA as the band and every weekend there are
dozens of Quinceañera Parties in public parks.  I thought it would be
fun to have the band perform at one of these parties.  There is a story
line about the girl of honor crushing hard on an old friend.  I wanted to
make a super sincere little story about first loves. I’ve been a fan of Best Coast
for a while.  It was a blast collaborating on a song I really
love.”
