News in this morning from British media and CNN is reporting
that Morrissey had just started his concert last night in Swindon (in West London), going through “This Charming Man,” when he
collapsed. Am ambulance arrived and he was treated at the venue then rushed off
to the hospital.

The singer was subsequently discharged today about 1pm
British time. A statement on his official website announced “Morrissey is
in stable condition after his collapse in Swindon
Saturday night. Thanks go out to all his well wishers, more information will be
posted as soon as it is available.”

No further details have been made available yet.

Morrissey’s Swords tour of the UK had only just
kicked off Friday night in Birmingham and the
status of remaining dates has, as of this writing, not changed; he’s due in Bournemouth tomorrow night. However, more than a dozen
concerts have been rescheduled this year alone due to illness on Morrissey’s
part.

UPDATE: According to a post at Morrissey’s site this morning, tonight’s concert in Bournemouth is cancelled: “The Morrissey concert at Bournemouth Academy on Monday 26th October will not take place on medical advice.”

Nothing has been mentioned yet about other gigs this week.
