Pearl Jam Mugging Vid On YouTube

THIS is what YouTube members
spend their time uploading?!?

Some folks just don’t get no respect.

That’s the situation with Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, who
you’ve probably heard was mugged on April 27 in the parking lot of Southern
Tracks Studio in Atlanta,
where the band was recording with producer Brendan O’Brien. According to news
reports,
the broad daylight attack happened when Ament and Mark Smith were at
their car and three masked men came out of the woods holding knives. They got a
reported $7300 in belongings (phone, laptop, more) and cash, plus Ament’s
passport – which probably won’t seem of much use to the muggers (assuming you
have a reasonably good instinct regarding the, uh, demographics of likely
muggers in the Atlanta
area).

Ament “suffered some lacerations” to the head in a scuffle,
reports say.

So now, to add insult to injury, someone has uploaded the
surveillance video footage from the parking lot cameras that recorded the
assault. See below, but we should add that here’s hoping that the crooks are
caught. Oh, and that the folks who put the vid on YouTube are permanently
barred from PJ concerts too – assholes. To be honest, this is the kind of thing
that we usually steer clear of, but everybody and his cousin seems to be
posting it to their own site, so it’s kind of a moot point. (We’d rather keep
you staring at BLURT, too.)
