Annual event takes
place in Chicago
By Blurt Staff
With the summer festival season already heating up, Chicago’s annual
Pitchfork Music Festival (put on by the good folks at Pitchfork, natch) is
already in the running for one of the must-attends. It takes place at Union Park
on July 17, 18 and 19, and the initial band list was announced yesterday. See
that list, below.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 13, and voting
commences that day as well. “Voting?” you say? That’s right: for the Friday
night extravaganza featuring Tortoise, Yo La Tengo, Built to Spill and Jesus
Lizard, ticket purchasers will be able to participate in what Pitchfork is
calling “Write the Night, Setlists by Request” – you get to vote on the songs
each band will play in their set.
