Break like the wind
and smell that motherfucking glove, baby, one more time…

media reports tell us that Spinal Tap has regrouped once again to record a new
album in conjunction with their 25th anniversary of the This Is Spinal Tap mockumentary.
Speaking to the BBC, bassist Derek Smalls commented, “It’ll be for
download as well as on conventional media later this year… We’ve never recorded
the song we did at Live Earth, Warmer Than Hell, and I think [Spinal Tap] are
trying to revisit their old success.”
Apparently orginal Tap film director Rob Reiner shot footage at the Live
Earth concert in London in 2007 and filmed additional clips outlining what the
band had been up to: Smalls, recovering from “an internet addiction”; David St.
Hubbins, a second career as a hip-hop producer; and Nigel Tufnel, “raising
miniature racing horses.”
The drummers, of course, all went on to lucrative careers playing in the
house bands for Leno, Letterman and Conan O’Brien (when Max Weinberg is off
with the E Street Band, natch)….
