Morello On Rage: “No plans” For LP

Doesn’t rule out more
live performances, however.

Tom Morello was in the news over the weekend, affirming his
plans to keep moving forward with the Nightwatchman (second album The Fabled City was released earlier
this year) while putting the kibosh on any rumors regarding more studio material
from Rage Against the Machine, who got back together last year and has
continued to perform live.

Speaking to Billboard.com, Morello commented, “There
are no plans for that,” referring to a Rage album. “We’ve had a
wonderful year and a half of playing shows, and I don’t see any reason to not
play more shows. The thing is, there’s only so many hours in the musical day,
and mine are very occupied right now.”

Morello also indicated that a third Nightwatchman album wasn’t
yet underway but when he does start working on it he’ll probably use his
touring band the Freedom Fighter Orchestra; he also wants to get started on a
collaboration with Coup frontperson (and Nightwatchman touring mate) Boots Riley.

Meanwhile, don’t forget to read our exclusive Morello
interview in the November digital magazine of BLURT. We also have a series of
exclusive interview video clips in our video section.
