Marnie Stern Don’t Get No Respect

We’re just gonna refer
to the album as “This Is It” from here on out…

By Fred Mills

The foxiest guitarist in indie
rock is about to hit the road. We’re talking ace shredder Marnie Stern, who
follows up her debut  In Advance of
the Broken Arm
with the new,
somewhat awkwardly titled This Is It And I Am It And You Are It And So Is
That And He Is It And She Is It And It Is It And That Is That
(due next
month from Kill Rock Stars).

to the label the record has Stern “tempering
her dizzying guitar acrobatics with pop elements in what promises to be another
impressive and inviting project.”

Well, all right then! She’ll be opening
dates for Gang Gang Dance and delivering her “contagious excitement, uniquely
friendly thrash, and maybe a Rodney Dangerfield impression if you’re lucky.”

We’re all about Rodney Dangerfield
