Bluesman Nick Moss Gear Stolen; Benefit Set

Van with all
instruments, etc. taken from Canadian parking lot.

By Fred Mills

First it was the Stooges getting their van and gear lifted
in Canada
Now, according to blues media reports, including THIS ONE, veteran bluesman
Nick Moss, frontman for Nick Moss & the Flip Tops, had all his gear stolen
late last week in Canda just as the band was planning to appear at the Ottawa
Blues Festival in Ottawa, Ontario. Apparently the theft took place
happened in a hotel parking lot that was supposedly covered by surveillance
cameras but, frustratingly, the cameras hadn’t had film replaced recently.

The entire van was taken, meaning that the Flip Tops lost
all instruments, accessories and sound equipment. What the hell is it about Canada suddenly being the hot gear capital of North America?!?

A benefit for Moss has been scheduled for Sept. 7 in Milwaukee at the Ale
House in order to raise funds for replacement gear, as a full recovery of the
stolen items seems unlikely. Moss’ band will play along with Rev. Raven &
the Chain Smokin’ Alter Boys, Perry Weber & the DeVilles, Billy Flynn, Jim
Liban, and other special guests.

Meanwhile, if anyone has information about the theft, you
can contact Moss via his website or his label:
