Mumford and Sons was the first act to play the newly renovated Forest Hills Tennis Stadium. The Stadium hosted the first U.S. Open in 1915! Many legendary acts including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who and – if you can believe this – an aggravated Jimi Hendrix, who walked off stage after being booed by screaming Monkee fans when he was the opening act!

Mumford and Sons started the show with Lovers Eyes and played a two hour set that included “Awake My Soul,” “Lover Of The Light,” “Hopeless Wanderer” and a great cover of Bruce Springsteen’s classic “I’m on Fire”. The 16,000-plus venue was packed to the max. Overall, the show seemed like a success. The band was as excited as the crowd and I felt like a piece of Rock ‘n’ Roll history…
