Just released is singer-songwriter Marshall Lewis’ second EP, Learned, which the gifted multiinstrumentalist co-produced with his good friend Kevin Flick (Puddlegum). We’ve got a special unveiling today of atmospheric track “Look Around,” the video for which was produced by Zak Stoldt of The Stills. (Stoldt also guest on the album and is the drummer in Lewis’ live band.) Check it out:
Lewis, incidentally, played all the instruments on the song.
He began his recording career at the tender age of 18, swiftly amassing a trove of material in under a year. This subsequently led to Lewis’ debut EP Chapters (mastered by TW Walsh, who has his own new record just out). With critical acclaim continuing to grow for Lewis – he’s been described as a folkie with an intimate sound, “a young soul dealing with old issues” – this new recording should see him reaching an even broader audience. As Lewis notes, “There seems to be a story put in place in our lives, a sort of timeline. But in the end, what matters is the underlining truth that has always been there. The timeline is just there to help us make sense of it, and that’s what I write about.”
Amen. Find out more about Lewis, including upcoming tour dates that kick off starting March 16 in Evansville, IN, at his official website.
