The band is called Seluah and they hail from Louisville, KY. Composed of Andrew Killmeier, Matt Johnson, Edward Grimes and Andrew Peace, their new album is titled Phase III and it’s out on the esteemed Karate Body label. We’re pretty proud to be able to premiere the track “Experiment In Horror” for all you Blurt-ers out there:
Phase III is Seluah’s third overall release since emerging in 2002 with a now-legendary self-titled EP that knocked the local Louisville scene on its ass, with some observers claiming them to best new band to ever emerge from the scene. However, following a hefty touring regimen the group took a protracted 6-year break, but eventually resurfaced fro 2012’s Red Parole. The new album picks up right where Red Parole left off, with “Experiment in Horror” setting the tone for a set of moody, at times menacing psych-noir explorations. The band worked with longtime collaborator Kevin Ratterman’s studio, additionally tapping the musical talents of Christian Frederickson on viola.
