Expect a bevy of babes down in front…

Tony Joe White’s new album Hoodoo arrived this week (via Yep Roc). And yes, publicists, here is a pull quote, from our forthcoming review: “The Swamp Fox unleashes an astonishing new album!” —Blurt Magazine.
Meanwhile, the BLURT brain trust has been listening to it nonstop for weeks; it’s got that kind of swampy mojo fans have come to expect, but even more so than on the past few releases. The dude who once saluted the salivations of Polk Salad Annie definitely knows what candy can satisfy the ladies’ Sweet Tooth… but all song titles aside, I digress. The Los Angeles Times recently premiered the album’s debut single and opening cut “The Gift,” which you can check out here: http://lat.ms/13A3kEt. Meanwhile, here some music:
In honor of the release, White will hit the road this fall for performances in select markets around the US. Based on previous tours this writer has seen, TJW is a veritable magnet – on multiple levels: swamp, sonic, sex. One night at Antone’s in Austin some 6 or 7 years ago, I caught him on a multi-artist SXSW bill, and the moment he swaggered onstage, just him, his guitar and his drummer, the whole room was alight with the sight of gorgeous MILFs gliding down front to take in his set up close and personal. The scent in the air was pure musk. I am not kidding.
US Tour Dates:
10/26: Los Angeles, CA – The Mint
11/13: New York, NY – Joe’s Pub
11/14: Philadelphia, PA – World Cafe Live
11/24: Nashville, TN – 3rd & Lindsley
