Calling True West and Long Ryders: where ya at, guys?
By Blurt Staff
As the ever-diligent Slicing Up Eyeballs webzine so helpfully points out, some of the key players from the ‘80s Paisley Underground scene are going to be making the paisley scene once again for a pair of one-off (two-off?) concerts in December.
Says SUE: “After nearly 30 years, a full-blown reunion of the Paisley Underground will take place this December in California as four of the scene’s key acts — headliners The Bangles, plus the newly reunited The Three O’Clock, The Dream Syndicate and Rain Parade— team up for at least two concerts in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
“The concerts are set for Dec. 5 at San Francisco’s Fillmore and Dec. 6 at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, the latter of which is a benefit for Education Through Music. Tickets for the Los Angeles concert go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday and the San Francisco show follows at 10 a.m. Sunday.”
You can bet that at least one BLURT contributor will be in the audience for the San Fran show. SUE adds that no word yet on whether this will turn into a full-blown tour.
