“Mutts” Comic Strip Pays Tribute to Captain Beefheart

If one picture is worth a thousand words, one daily comic strip is worth a thousand celebrity testimonials.

If you are familiar with the daily comic “Mutts” then I don’t have to convince you of creator Patrick McDonnell’s brilliance; raise your hand if you look forward to his recurring “Shelter Stories” theme of people adopting strays and discards from animal shelters.

Today’s strip, above, pretty much speaks for itself, and on multiple levels. It’s at least as cool as the time the father in “Zits” was spotted wearing a Flamin’ Groovies teeshirt in a strip.

Thanks, Mr. McDonnell – gabba gabba, you’re one of us.
