Incoming: Led Zeppelin Career-Spanning/Comprehensive “Film Archive” Blu-Ray

All the stuff that you heard rumors of but could never track down in any reasonable quality form…

By Uncle Blurt

Been a Led Zep fan since I was but a little sprout, so when news arrived this weekend of an awesome new Blu-ray Zeppelin release I was more than excited. It’s titled The Film Archive: The Concert Timeline Collection and it’s exactly what that title suggests – a massive compilation of LZ footage going all the way back to the Fillmore ’69 up through Zurich and Munich in the summer of 1980. Much of this has appeared on, er, other underground releases in the past (particularly during the VHS era, which should tell you something right there), but never before in this type of quality. Everything has been remastered for Hi-def, and some of the footage has never been in circulation except among the most clandestine collectors’ circles. To utter a cliché: this has been lovingly curated like only the best unofficial Zeppelin releases can be curated.

Check out the tracklisting, below, following this musical interlude, and meanwhile, go HERE to read our recent review of the first round of official re-reissues.
