Each year this time the BLURT staff starts sorting out the many Christmas albums that have been coming in, and each time we get a massive headache because, honestly, the world does not need more Christmas albums. If you have the Chipmunks, Peanuts, Johnny Cash, Sinatra/Rat Pack and Emmylou Harris recs, you should be fine. That said, we also feel compelled to review ’em each year, as we did in 2014, and in 2013, and…. oy.

So we will be grudgingly adding Vivian Girl Cassie Ramone’s upcoming Christmas in Reno to our holiday queue. It’s out on Dec. 11, courtesy the mighty Burger Records, which describes it as “at once an ode to the nostalgic merriment of Christmas and a nod to the pain and desolation of the American holiday season”.

Well, all right! That tells us exactly nothing. But we do like her version of “Run Run Rudolph” – it ain’t as good as Keith Richards’ version, but it still works. Here’s the full tracklisting for the album.

1 Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
2 Run Run Rudolph
3 Wonderful Christmastime
4 Blue Christmas
5 Rockin Around The Xmas Tree
6 Little Saint Nick
7 Sleigh Ride
8 Christmastime Is Here
9 I’ll Be Home For Christmas
10 The Christmas Song
