First R.P. concert in a quarter century at that.

Back in June we reported on the horrible automobile accident that songwriter Bobby Sutliff – one-half of the late, great power pop maestros The Windbreakers – experienced. In the aftermath, while he apparently has been recovering slowly but surely, his former partner in the Windbreakers, Tim Lee, has been organizing a tribute/benefit album that will include a slew of heavy hitters, including psychedelic legends Mitch Easter, dB’s, Matt Piucci of the Rain Parade, Autumn Defense and Lee’s own band the Tim Lee Three. (A fund for Sutliff has also been established – go here for details.)
Now a benefit concert has been scheduled for January 19 in Atlanta featuring the Rain Parade and the Tim Lee 3 – notable, in no small way, for the fact that this will be the first time the Rain Parade has performed in 25 years. Check out the gig poster, above, for more details, and you can also consult the website of the Atlanta venue The Earl.
