At The Drive-in: No Recording Plans

Strictly a “nostalgia
thing.” Oh, and the paycheck will be nice, too.

Reports out of England yesterday suggest that the
previously announced At The Drive-in reunion not planning to yield a new album, despite a swathe of rumors that
accompanied the initial news of the reunion. Guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez
told Kerrang! firmly, “Will
there be a new album? No, no, no. At The Drive-In is more of a nostalgia thing
– it’s songs we wrote when we were all in our 20s and we’re doing a couple of
shows.”

So that’s that. There is a new album incoming on March 27
from Mars Volta
, however, and we’ll be featuring that other band
Rodriguez-Lopez operates soon.
